Today I was again at the old dam I commented on in August. Meanwhile, the demolition has started, as shown on the pictures. As you can see, the barrage has been dug up in the middle, so the Eifgen creek can pass more or less unchecked again. A part of the accrued debris has been used to fill the large hole behind the paddle of the watergate; the rest has been scattered along the waterfront.

I don’t know whether the whole thing is going to remain as it is now. I hope so, for in its current state, it would still be recognizable as a piece of history and achitecture. Somehow I don’t believe it though…
