The boat to Northrend
Almost nobody believed in it anymore, and I too hadn’t expected the opening of Northrend any sooner than the date when Blizzard already launched the next addon. But today was the day: About one year after the release of “Wrath of the Lich King”, we can finally level up to 80 on our server, too.

Shopping at the Darkmoon Faire
Every month the Darkmoon Faire offers its exotic goods for one week. But to be honest: How often do you really get something there? Whenever you talk to one of the vendors, everything useful is already sold out, and most often it seems obvious that it must have something to do with those level-1 characters standing around there day and night. The only way to play a trick on such “buying bots” is to bot back against them! (For the fainthearted: No, this is not really about true botting.)

There it is!
Well, how about that? I went to the Weeping Cave for a moment, just to reveal the map, and killed a few of those disgusting slimes, and suddenly held an Oozing Bag with a cute little Disgusting Oozeling in my hands! That’s how it must be!

Boo!
On 18th October, Hallow’s End began, and of course we immediately checked out the Scarlet Monastery to see if the Headless Horseman was also doable by two players. Happily he was, so we have since farmed him five times a day at least – sometimes even more, for that’s also possible on our server.
Besides the three rings (Witches Band, The Horseman’s Signet Ring and Ring of Ghoulish Delight) that we now own twelvefold, he also dropped The Horseman’s Blade, Hallowed Helms and Sinister Squashlings.

Black Login Screen
For a while now, I’ve been using a WoW “Addon” that is actually none. In fact it’s only two empty files – a model and a sound file –, which serve the purpose to send the annoying dragon animation at the start of the game into the Nirvana. Allegedly, there are people who think this dragon is cool, but I (like many others) hate it like the plague. Aside from the fact that it seems to generate the same CPU load as a complete 25 man raid on highest detail level, the bassish sounds that it utters get on your nerves pretty fast. Added to this is the noise of the CPU fan which turns up to full speed after a short time. For some people, the computer is to busy with just the dragon animation that they have to type in their account data at 0,3 FPS.

I don’t know if anybody noticed – this column doesn’t probably have too many readers after all ;) –, but lately, the beautiful character information here on the site hadn’t been updated anymore. That was because our server had to move unexpectedly, and while they were at it, they just renewed the Armory, too. This took a few days (or was it weeks?), but now everything is up and working again – and even better than before. There’s only one funny problem with the display of the socketed gems, but well, I think you can imagine anyway what gems we will roughly have socketed.

A few days ago, we quickly searched a group for the Sha’tar dungeons, which is done much faster nowadays thanks to dual spec, because everybody can fulfill two completely different tasks in case of need. After one Mechanar and Botanica run, we were “honored” and thereby now have the complete blue PvP set. I also upgraded my Mooncleaver to a Bloodmoon – no problem thanks to our vast fortune. Equipped in this manner, we dared to enter the arena for the first time!

Unfortunately, there weren't any blue items in all these bags.
We took a two-week break again. During that time, we only collected some [Arakkoa Feathers] from time to time to get our reputation with Lower City to “honored”. We’re absolutely not keen on the corresponding dungeons. Besides, it also benefited our epic mount box as well as Coldinchen’s enchanting skill. The birds dropped loads of cloth, green and blue items, and every third turn at the latest, Okrek was back again, which meant one [Small Prismatic Shard] each time.

On golden gryphons' wings ...
The day before yesterday we quested a little in Terokkar Forest, where we had the possibility to work on our reputations with Lower City and the Cenarion Expedition at the same time. We have to get at least “honored” with both in order to get the PvP item from each of them.
So we carried out a number of tasks, ran into Okrek three times, got ourselves [Miniwing] and killed an aggressive, but incompetent Rogue named Homojoe several times. Apart from the “feathered” and useless belts from Okrek, we also had a pair of [Blade Dancer's Wristguards] and a [Headdress of Inner Rage] in our bags at the end. When we were 69, we did a little PvP and even thought that it might be wise to stay on level 69 and farm a little honor first before proceeding to the battlegrounds with the fully equipped 70s. But then we noticed that we were already being sent to the battlegrounds with the 70s anyway, which destroyed our genius plan.

A few days ago we wanted to have a try in the Hellfire Ramparts – just the two of us, as usual – but it seems that since the last server patch all dungeons are tuned a little too hard. So we weren’t even able to kill the first three mobs, because the damage was simply too high.
So we went to Blade’s Edge Mountains instead, where we leveled to 67 and found a [Sash of Sealed Fate].
