No chance! It has now happened to me several times that no files were listed at all, although I <em>knew<\/em> that my search expression was inside one of the files. Today I finally started searching for a solution and was surprised to find it directly <a rel=\"external\"  href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/kb\/309173\/de\">at&nbsp;Microsoft<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Here&#8217;s the brief version:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<ol>\r\n<li>Right click &#8220;My Computer&#8221; &rarr; &#8220;Manage&#8221;<\/li>\r\n<li>Fold out &#8220;Services and Applications&#8221;<\/li>\r\n<li>Right click &#8220;Indexing Service on Local Machine&#8221; &rarr; &#8220;Properties&#8221;<\/li>\r\n<li>On the &#8220;Generation&#8221; tab activate &#8220;Index files with unknown extensions&#8221;<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n<p>That&#8217;s it!<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>(Background: For no obvious reason, Windows&nbsp;XP only searches those files by default, whose extension has been registered as a file type &#8211; e.&nbsp;g. by some application.
