My web host WebGo24<\/a> is currently transferring all accounts to new servers. In the night of 13. to 14., my site was being moved, and since then my WordPress is bugging a little. At first, neither the page itself nor the the admin area would load. After I had manually disabled all plugins in the database, it worked again. However, as soon as I activate a certain number of plug-ins, it happens again: Either the admin area doesn’t load at all (white page), or only halfway. Or it does load completely, but certain widgets, which should actually load additional data, remain empty.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The number or size of the plugins cannot be the reason – the problems already start, if I only enable about five “smaller” plugins. It can’t be caused by the memory limit either – it has already been increased to 128 Mb for testing, and according to TPC! Memory Usage<\/a>, my WordPress only needs ~23 Mb. Apart from that, it used to work without any problems until now with 64 or even 32 Mb (don’t remember exactly).
\r\nDuring desperate googling, I have also read that PHP often needs a lot more memory on 64-bit servers<\/a> (← link to Google translation), because it hasn’t been properly optimized for that yet. But according to my display, I am still on a 32-bit server, so that’s not the reason either.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

In the support chat, I was told (as often, whenever I have a problem) that there are sooo<\/em> many other customers who are having absolutely nooo<\/em> problems with their WordPress sites. Yes. How nice for them! :D On the other hand, I did come across some calls for help from others who are also at WebGo24. Maybe their problems, too, started at the moment when their account got transferred?
\r\nWhat I actually want to say is:<\/strong> I’m at my wits end right now, and have therefore disabled some of my plugins. Also, I’ll often be fiddling on the site in the next few days, until I find the cause of the problem. Therefore, do not be surprised, if things are missing or funny looking from time to time. ;)<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n

Update (October 17, 2010)<\/h3>\r\n\r\n

Hooray, the mail support helped! I was told that I am<\/em> on a 64-bit server now. Therefore – as described in the link above – the same amount of memory that had previously been sufficient, is no longer enough. Actually, the man from the chat support had already increased my memory to 128 MB yesterday. But apparently he had made a mistake there, so it had absolutely no effect. But this time my memory was really<\/em> increased to 128 MB, and now everything’s running smoothly again. :)
\r\nAnd all that on Sunday morning! I had written the support ticket at 7 p.m. yesterday and hadn’t expected a response before Monday. But today at half past eleven, the problem was already gone. Great! As a reward, I’ll put a banner here! *g*<\/p>\r\n\r\n
